Dutch club NAC Breda have decided not to extend the contracts of Ghana internationals Andre Ayew and Denis Odoi following their relegation from the Eredivisie.

The club’s relegation was confirmed after finishing 17th in the 18-team standings, marking an immediate drop back to the second tier after a challenging campaign.

Both players joined during the 2025–26 season, with Odoi arriving in November 2025 and Ayew signing in January 2026 as a free agent.

Odoi featured 19 times and brought defensive experience to a struggling side, while Ayew made 16 appearances and scored once after his mid-season arrival.

Despite their contributions, NAC Breda were unable to turn their season around, with inconsistency ultimately proving costly.

The decision brings a swift end to both players’ short stint in the Netherlands as the club begins restructuring for life in the second division.

Ayew and Odoi, who were part of Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad in Qatar, remain in the national team conversation, with Ayew still reportedly in contention for a potential recall ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
