Newly appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has arrived in Ghana ahead of his official unveiling scheduled for Thursday, April 23.
The experienced Portuguese tactician touched down at Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday evening and is set to be formally introduced at Alisa Hotel.
Queiroz takes over from Otto Addo, who was relieved of his duties following a string of inconsistent performances by the national team.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United assistant coach has signed a short-term, four-month contract to steer Ghana through a crucial period.
He is expected to lead the Black Stars at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Queiroz arrives with a wealth of international experience, having guided Portugal to the knockout stages of the 2010 World Cup and managed Iran at the 2014 and 2018 editions of the tournament.
Following his unveiling, the Ghana Football Association is expected to present him to the Minister of Sports, Kofi Adams, in line with official protocol.
The 71-year-old will quickly turn his attention to preparations for the World Cup, beginning with international friendlies against Mexico and Wales in early June.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L, where they will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 before facing England and Croatia in subsequent matches.
His appointment is widely seen as a move to steady the Black Stars and revive their World Cup ambitions after disappointing early exits in 2014 and 2022.
