Antoine Semenyo has credited Manchester City’s commanding 4-0 victory over Liverpool to a blend of defensive organisation and ruthless finishing.

The Ghana international, speaking to TNT Sports after the FA Cup quarter-final clash on April 4, 2026, highlighted the team’s determination to build on their recent Carabao Cup success.

Semenyo, who struck City’s third goal shortly after the restart following a neat assist from Rayan Cherki, said the squad approached the tie with a clear mission—to carry their winning momentum into another statement performance against familiar rivals.

Reflecting on the display, he pointed to a renewed collective focus across the pitch, revealing that players had held internal talks after their Carabao Cup triumph to sharpen both their attacking edge and defensive resilience.

“Feels amazing. The team played really well today. We wanted to continue from the Carabao Cup final, and we carried on today,” he said.

“We said from the final, once we are back, we wanted to score goals, defend as a team, and we did that perfectly today," he added.

City’s dominant outing was headlined by a hat-trick from Erling Haaland, while goalkeeper James Trafford produced a crucial penalty save to preserve the clean sheet.

Attention now shifts to the Premier League, where Manchester City face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
