Former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has called on Asante Kotoko to take a measured approach in appointing a new head coach, emphasizing the importance of selecting someone with the right character and ability to handle pressure.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently without a permanent coach following the resignation of Karim Zito.
Assistant coach Prince Yaw Owusu has been named interim head coach for the remainder of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Konadu stressed that the club should prioritise the right fit over rushing the appointment.
“It is about who will fit the bill. Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, you need coaches with character to handle the pressure and their fanbase," the former Kotoko coach said, as reported by 3Sports.
"It is all about being patient and making sure you go for the right one,” he explained.
In other developments, Asante Kotoko on Friday, February 27, unveiled a new three-member board of directors.
Mr James Osei Brown will serve as Chairman, Mr Kwasi Osei Ofori as Vice Chairman, and Mr Kofi Amoa-Abban, Founder and CEO of Rigworld Group, joins as a board member.
The club will face Vision FC on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Matchday 24 fixture.
