The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Ghana ACN 2008, in collaboration with Sportfive, is organising a media seminar in pursuance of the LOC scheme of building the capacity of the local media as a legacy.
The one-day seminar is slated for the Miklin Hotel on Thursday November 15, 2007, and it is open to all practising media practitioners in Ghana.
The workshop, being sponsored by Sportfive, the company contracted to do the TV production of the Ghana 2008 ACN Tournament, will be undertaken at two levels for journalists.
The theoretical level training will be for practitioners drawn from all the print and electronic media, including television and radio companies, with each media house expected to recommend up to two staff members whose particulars should reach the LOC secretariat by Wednesday November 7, 2007.
The second instance will involve practical level training for the group of up to 15 technical men and producers, selected by the LOC and Sportfive from the host broadcasting company, specifically GTV, to operate the OB Van in the production of the tournament from the Tamale Stadium.
Sportfive is further committed as part of the contract to arrange for a team made up of representatives of all the six local television stations to be attached to TV production teams of Sportfive during the coverage of European football matches to adequately prepare Ghana's TV companies for the use of the facilities at the stadia, even after the tournament.
