Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is set to leave Villarreal when his contract expires in June.
This comes after reports suggest that the head coach for the side, Marcelino García Toral, has declared Partey is not part of his plans for next season.
The 32-year-old joined the La Liga side ahead of the start of the season on a two-year deal after leaving Arsenal after five seasons.
Since he arrived at the club, Partey has struggled for game time, making just 18 appearances for the Yellow Submarine in all competitions.
According to Transferfeed, Villarreal boss Marcelino has already informed the club’s hierarchy that Partey will not be retained beyond the current deal.
As a result, the former Atletico Madrid midfielder is expected to depart the club when his contract runs out on June 30, 2026.
Partey’s current market value is estimated at €5 million, according to Transfermarkt.
