Ex-Ghana forward Matthew Amoah returns to former side NAC Breda as a technical staff member

Former Ghana international Matthew Amoah has returned to his former club, NAC Breda, joining the technical team together with former club forward Anouar Diba.

The duo will be responsible for developing and mentoring the club’s attacking players.

Speaking on the appointment of the former club forwards, NAC Breda technical director Peter Maas said, "With the addition of Matthew and Anouar, we're adding specific expertise to the current coaching staff.

"Both have been doing excellent and focused work with our youth players at the NAC Youth Academy for quite some time, and they'll now do the same with the first team."

NAC Breda is currently struggling at the bottom of the Eredivisie, with 13 points from 17 matches in the 2025/26 season.

Amoah, who played as a striker for NAC from 2007 to 2011, scored 57 goals and registered 12 assists in over 130 appearances.

Diba featured in more than 120 games for the club between 2002 and 2007, contributing 20 goals and 20 assists.

On the international stage, Amoah was part of Ghana’s squad at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, earning 45 caps and scoring 12 goals for the Black Stars.

At NAC, Amoah will work alongside another Ghanaian star, former national captain Andre Ayew, who recently joined the team until the end of the season.
