John Ayayee delivered a commanding performance to clinch the Men’s Group A title at the 4th Head of State Golf Tournament held last Friday at the Achimota Golf Club.

Ayayee topped the leaderboard with a handicap of eight and an impressive 44 points. Elisee Sezan followed closely, finishing second with a handicap of nine and 42 points, while Isaac Asante secured third place with a handicap of 10 and 39 points.

In the Men’s Group B category, Esukis Esukise Martin emerged winner after recording a handicap of 24 and 46 points. Kingsley Ayesu, also playing off a handicap of 24, claimed the runner-up spot with 42 points. Third place went to John Djiedjorm Jaja, who posted a handicap of 15 and 41 points.

The Ladies Group A contest saw Floria Hurtubise take the top position with a handicap of 14 and 40 points. She was trailed by Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah, also on a handicap of 14, who finished with 37 points. Mary Prempeh completed the podium with a handicap of eight and 36 points.

In the Ladies Group B category, Marlene Tonyigah secured victory with a handicap of 28 and 42 points. Princess Nkansah-Boadu came second with 41 points off a handicap of 23, while Kous Louanges Mang placed third after scoring 39 points with a handicap of 25.

The auxiliary awards produced more excitement. John Yankah won the “closest to the pin” prize on hole 18 in the men’s division, while Yaba Ehomah claimed the women’s equivalent. The longest drive on hole 17 went to Frederick Duvor and Angela Bamford in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.

Former President John Dramani Mahama, who marked his 67th birthday on the day, graced the event as special guest of honour. He joined the ceremonial tee-off and later participated in the awards presentation. Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, was also present.

Frédéric Feraille, Managing Director of Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, presented one of the evening’s major prizes. The event also drew notable personalities, including musician Wendy Shay.

The 2025 Head of State Golf Tournament was supported by several sponsors, among them Vivo Energy Ghana, Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, Blue Skies Products, Appolonia City and Royal Senchi.
