Ghana head coach Otto Addo has shed light on the late arrival of defender Mohammed Salisu to camp ahead of their international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.
The AS Monaco centre-back joined the squad on Wednesday, just two days before Ghana’s Kirin Cup clash with Japan at the Toyota Stadium on Friday, November 14.
Speaking to the Ghana FA’s official website, Addo confirmed that Salisu had yet to train with the team, revealing that the defender was managing a minor injury sustained during his last Ligue 1 match for Monaco.
"We will see today. Surely, we have to fight with the time difference; then, we have some issues here and there," Addo told Ghana FA website.
"So, Salisu had suffered an injury after his last match in France, so he was getting some treatment, so that's why he came late. We'll see today if he can train.
"We have some other issues here and there, but I think he's very healthy. Due to the time difference and the long travel, we have to see how he feels to see if he can play," he added.
Following Friday’s fixture against Japan, the Black Stars will continue their Asian tour with a friendly against South Korea in Seoul on Tuesday, November 18.
