Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu believes Ghana is fully prepared to seek revenge when they host Comoros in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 12.
The Black Stars are on the brink of securing qualification for the tournament after a commanding 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic.
Otto Addo’s men now need just a single point to seal their place at next year’s World Cup.
Comoros, however, has proven to be a difficult opponent for Ghana in recent years. Since their first meeting at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the island nation remains the only team to have beaten Ghana in the ongoing qualifiers.
Despite this history, Agyemang-Badu insists Sunday’s fixture will be one of celebration — and redemption.
“They have been a thorn in our flesh and we want to teach them that we are a football nation more than them,” he told Channel One TV.
“It will be a very exciting game, a celebration game, and we are going to beat them,” he added.
Ghana currently leads Group I with 22 points and a goal difference of +8, ahead of second-placed Madagascar.
