Bibiani Gold Stars have etched their name into Ghanaian football history, clinching their maiden Ghana Premier League title following a dominant 4-0 victory over already-relegated Accra Lions on the final day of the 2024/25 season.
Playing at their home ground, DUN’s Park, the Miners wasted no time asserting their dominance. Abdul Farouk Amoaful opened the scoring just four minutes into the match, setting the tone for a memorable afternoon.
Gold Stars doubled their lead before halftime, courtesy of a well-worked team move that ended with Kelvin Oppong calmly finishing to make it 2-0.
The second half mirrored the first, with the home side continuing to apply pressure. Samuel Atta Kumi extended the lead after the break, before Frank Amankwah put the icing on the cake with a fourth goal just five minutes later.
Under the guidance of head coach Frimpong Manso, Bibiani Gold Stars have been formidable at home throughout the campaign, losing only once at DUN’s Park and conceding just five goals in 17 matches—a defensive record that played a crucial role in their title charge.
With this historic achievement, Bibiani Gold Stars will now represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.
