Ibrahim Tanko has been announced as the head coach of Medeama SC on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
The former Ghana Male Olympic team coach takes over from Bosnian Nebojsa Kapor, who parted ways mutually with the club back in December 2024.
Interim coach Evans Adotey, who replaced Nebojsa Kapor in December 2024, has been reassigned as technical director.
Tanko has been on the job market after leaving Accra Lions, another Ghana Premier League outfit, as Technical Director.
The former Borussia Dortmund star is one of the most experienced trainers in the country having worked in Japan’s J League and the Bundesliga.
He was also an assistant coach of Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions and has also served as the assistant coach of the Black Stars.
Ibrahim Tanko is expected to be in the dugout when Medeama SC host Legon Cities in the Matchday 19 games at the at the TnA Stadium.
Medeama sit 7th on the league log with 26 points.
