The Black Galaxies of Ghana have been held to a goalless scoreline against Nigeria’s Super Eagles B in the first leg of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
The two national teams made up of home-based players locked horns at the Accra Sports Stadium as they battle for a place in the tournament which has been slated to be hosted next year in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
In the first half, neither side could create a clear chance although the attacking play was not that bad.
With no goal at halftime, Ghana and Nigeria had it all to play for in the second half to try and score to secure the maximum points.
Unfortunately, the strong performance from both national teams could not produce a goal.
Ghana’s Black Galaxies led by head coach Didi Dramani will hope to cause an upset ahead of the reverse fixture.
That second leg encounter is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 28, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
