The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Koduah, has reaffirmed the party's commitment to delivering on its promises, highlighting the progress made in sports infrastructure under the NPP government.
Speaking in reaction to skepticism surrounding a recent campaign promise by the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Koduah urged Ghanaians to have confidence in the NPP’s track record.
Dr. Bawumia, during the launch of the NPP’s 2024 manifesto in Takoradi on August 18, pledged to construct 5,000-seater stadiums in the six newly created regions if elected President.
This promise, aimed at boosting sports development and winning voter support, has drawn criticism from some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), who view it as unrealistic.
Addressing the doubts on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show monitored by ModernGhana News, Koduah emphasized the NPP’s accomplishments in sports infrastructure over the past years.
He noted that when the NPP took office, there were only three astroturfs in the country, but that number has now risen to 150 under their governance.
“I’m surprised that at this time, people still doubt the NPP when we say we will do something. Haven’t we done the Legon Sports Stadium?
“Go and check the state-of-the-art sports complex we’ve built at Borteyman. When we came into government, there were only three astroturfs, and we have increased it to 150 today,” Koduah stated confidently.
