Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo, has announced the teams set to participate in the 2024 Top Four competition.
In a recent interview, Fianoo revealed that FA Cup winners Nsoatreman and Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex will not be participating due to their commitments in African competitions.
Instead, Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea, Nations FC, and Medeama SC will compete in this year's event.
"This year, we're organizing an off-season GHALCA competition because certain issues disrupted our initial plans, preventing us from getting the true top four teams. However, we have an obligation to hold this competition after every league season," Fianoo explained to Peace FM.
"We intended to hold a top-four tournament, but the schedule provided by the GFA clashed with the CAF competitions, making it impossible for the FA Cup winner and the league winner to participate.
"As a result, we selected the next four teams—Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea, Nations FC, and Medeama SC—to participate. Kotoko was initially supposed to join but informed us that they have already planned their off-season preparations and cannot take part," he added.
The 2024 Top Four competition will be hosted at the newly constructed T&A Park in Tarkwa.
