Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Fredrick Asare has expressed optimism about their chances ahead of their clash against Hearts of Oak in the maiden Democracy Cup.
The two glamorous clubs will clash at the Accra Sports Stadium later tonight in commemoration of 30 years of Parliamentary Democracy under the Fourth Republic.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, July 16, 20244, at Parliament House, Asare spoke with certainty that the Porcupine Warriors would overcome the Phobians.
"The Narrative of Hearts of Oak winning maiden trophies is going to change tomorrow because it's a new era,” he said.
In the just-ended Ghana Premier League season, Asante Kotoko recorded back-to-back wins against the Phobian Club.
Before the main game between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, former Black Stars players will face Parliamentarians in a mini-friendly.
The former Black Stars versus Parliamentarians game will kick off at 1 pm while the Hearts of Oak versus Asante Kotoko fixture starts at 6 pm.
The winner of the game between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in a friendly match against DC United in Washington.
