Executive Board Chairman of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has cautioned critics to stop their unwarranted criticisms and rather praise the board for their sacrifices.
He said this while addressing stakeholders at the team’s Annual General Meeting; in his speech and subsequent address, the Executive Chairman touched on several issues centred on the club’s finances and ongoing projects.
“We are just sacrificing, spending so much money we deserve praise and appreciation. We deserve praise and not unnecessary pettiness and jealousy so when they say Togbe owns it, it’s just because Togbe is funding it or Togbe’s companies are funding it. That is why we don’t owe salaries and we should be happy about that.”
Togbe Afede added that negativity from Hearts of Oak fans is hurting the club especially its ability to get sponsorships.
Hearts of Oak's slow start has added to the frustration of supporters who watched the club finish 12th in the 2022-2023 season.
Four games into the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League have recorded just a win and sit 16th on the league log.
