Jordan Ayew has praised youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi following his performance in Crystal Palace's defeat against Manchester United in the EFL Cup.
Palace suffered a 3-0 defeat in the third round at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.
The teams face off on Saturday, September 30 in the English Premier League at the same venue.
Speaking to Palace TV after the loss, Ayew was confident of a bounce-back performance from Palace this weekend but took time to praise the efforts of Palace academy products Rak-Sakyi and David Ozoh.
“Jes is a very good player. He’s a future talent and did well at Charlton [on loan last season]. David is a good young player. I’m happy for them that they’re having opportunities now – it’s for them to seize them.”
Rak-Sakyi is a 20-year-old right-winger born in London to Ghanaian parents and is eligible to represent Ghana internationally at the senior level after representing England’s Under 20 side.
Featuring in the 0-3 loss to Man United marked Rak-Sakyi’s fifth appearance of the season with three coming in the EPL.
