Crystal Palace youngster, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has opted to play Ghana national team instead of England.
The 20-year-old has featured for the various English national teams, especially the U-20 team but has opted to represent Ghana at the international level.
The youngster’s decision was disclosed by Charlton Athletic first-team coach Anthony Hayes who coached Jesurum at the club.
“Jes[urun Rak-Sakyi] has ambitions to play in the Premier League and represent Ghana, to play in World Cup,” Hayes said as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
Rak-Sakyi was originally in the youth system at Chelsea, before joining Crystal Palace in 2019.
His first appearance in the Crystal Palace first-team squad was as an unused substitute against his previous club on April 10, 2021, and he signed his first professional contract for the club two days later.
Rak-Sakyi joined Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan deal in August 2022 before returning to Crystal Palace.
Jesurum Rak-Sakyi is eligible to represent Ghana through his parents.
