
Ghanaian outfit, Kotoku Royals Football Club has announced that Swiss tactician Fritz Markus Schmid has been made the team’s interim head coach for the rest of the 2021/22 Division One League season.
The experienced gaffer is stepping in for the Italian tactician Paolo Campagna, who left his position in early February.
“UEFA Pro Licence Coach Fritz Schmid from Switzerland has been confirmed as Interim Head Coach and Technical Advisor at Kotoku Royals Football Club for the remainder of the Division One Season 2021/22.
“The 62year old Swiss technician, who is also a Technical Consultant with UEFA and a member of FIFA's Technical Leadership Experts Group, has been collaborating with the Club as a consultant in technical and strategical processes during the whole season,” parts of an official club statement from Kotoku Royals said on Thursday.
In the past, Markus Schmid has worked with several teams in Europe including Grasshopper Zurich and FC Basel.
The gaffer is to be assisted by former Black Stars and Hearts of Oaks player Ernest Okyere as his deputy.
