Ghana international, Caleb Ekuban has confirmed his Trabzonspor exit ahead of his move to Genoa in the Serie A.
The 26-year-old was linked to several clubs in Europe following his explosion last season.
Genoa has coughed €2m for the services of the former Leeds United forward.
Confirming his departure from the club, Ekuban wrote, “To the Trabzonspor fans! I apologize for my silence and for all the speculation and talks about me because of that.
"I never had bad intention to the club to the fan base that was and is amazing.. you guys (fans) made me feel like home but sometimes.. when home calls you can say no and that’s what happened.
"I just wish to have accomplished what I really fought for in these years, that was to give to these amazing people of the city of Trabzon great and unforgettable memories! I tried a lot.
"I didn’t win all but archive some.. with some amazing human being first of all.. before being players staff and the workers you never let me down and took care of me.. with my heart full of joy and my eyes full of tears.
"I wish you the best of luck for everything. I will keep following because I can’t forget what you gave me and I will never do! I said a lot and I could continue till never.
"I just want you guys to know that. I loved this club and the people that supported it! Thank you for everything.. in football you never know but for now, it’s goodbye ππΎππΎ π΄π΅ #bordomavi Bize Her Yer Trabzon!!!".
Ekuban arrived in Italy on Wednesday morning and completed his medical. He is expected to be unveiled by the close of this weekend.
He had an incredible campaign in the Turkish top-flight last term where he scored 10 goals in 32 game outings for Trabzonspor.
Ekuban began his career in Italy at Mantova Youth team before moving to Chievo Verona where he spent at 7 years at the youth and senior levels.
He enjoyed loan spells at FC Suditrol, FC Lumezzane, AC Renate all in Italy and also FK Partizani in Albania.
He also had a stint at English Premier League side Leeds United.
Ekuban was a member of the Black Stars squad that represented Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations staged in Egypt.
He has capped nine times for the senior national team of Ghana, scoring three goals.
