Hearts of Oak made a major push in the quest to win this season’s Ghana Premier League title on Sunday evening as the side defeated Medeama SC 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The club since May has been the most in-form side in the Ghanaian top-flight league. Nicknamed the Phobians, the team today hosted their matchday 29 opponent of the league campaign hoping to win to continue their impressive run.
Courtesy of goals from midfielder Salifu Ibrahim and Benjamin Afutu Kotey in either half of today’s contest, Hearts of Oak has managed to cruise to a vital win against Medeama SC.
The victory over the Yellow and Mauve outfit sees the Accra-based club stay top of the Ghana Premier League standings with 53 points.
The team in second, Asante Kotoko has 50 points and will play against Inter Allies FC on Monday, June 14, 2021.
The Porcupine Warriors must win to pile pressure on their rivals with just six matches left to play in the Ghana Premier League.
