The government has upheld the revocation of three mining leases belonging to Adamus Resources Ltd, following a review of the company’s petition challenging the decision.
The leases cover the Akango, Salman and Nkroful mining concessions.
The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, revoked the leases on April 26, after investigations established breaches of Ghana’s mining laws.
In an update issued on Monday, August 10, Media Relations Officer at the Ministry, Paa Kwesi Schandorf, said the Minister had carefully reviewed the company’s petition and other relevant matters before arriving at the decision.
“After a careful and comprehensive review of the petition and all relevant matters, the Lands Minister has today, Monday, August 10, 2026, upheld the revocation of the company’s mining leases with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.
Following the decision, the Minister has directed the Minerals Commission to assume administrative oversight of Adamus Resources Ltd.
The Commission has also been tasked with taking the necessary steps to ensure an orderly transition and continuity of operations.
The Ministry said the government was committed to protecting the interests of workers affected by the revocation.
It said the Minister had assured employees that their jobs would be safeguarded throughout the transition and that the revocation would not jeopardise their livelihoods.
“Government remains committed to protecting jobs and legitimate investments in the mining sector while ensuring strict compliance with Ghana’s mining laws and the terms and conditions under which mineral rights are granted,” the statement noted.
