Hearts of Oak attacker Michelle Sarpong netted a brace on Sunday night to help the team thrash Dreams FC 3-0 in the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians have this season endured a difficult start and went into today’s matchday five fixture staged at the Accra Sports Stadium on the back of three games without a win.
Risking battling relegation even at the early stage of the new season, the capital-based side hosted Dreams FC today determined to pick up maximum points by all means.
Having put up the needed fight, Hearts of Oak went into the break with a deserved lead courtesy of a strike from Kwadwo Obeng Jnr in the 38th minute.
After recess, the home team continued to dominate while stopping the opponent from making any strides.
In the end, a brace from Michelle Sarpong in the second half after displaying outstanding form complemented the earlier strike from Kwadwo Obeng Jnr to hand Hearts of Oak a much-needed 3-0 win.
As a result of today’s triumph, the team has climbed to sixth on the standings of the Ghana Premier League.
