Asante Kotoko defender, Christopher Nettey is buzzing with excitement after receiving his debut call-up to play for the Ghana male senior national team.
The full-back was initially not part of the 23-man squad invited to the Black Stars camp ahead of the double-header clash against Sudan in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
However, with Harrison Afful unable to arrive for the upcoming games in the International Break, Christopher Nettey has been handed a late call-up to augment the squad.
Reacting to the invite, the delighted right-back says it’s a dream come true
“It’s a dream come true, I am so excited for my call-up. I have come this far as a result of hard work and dedication and I am going there to do same to cement a place in the team, I am ready to learn from my seniors and implement on the field when given the nod,”, Nettey told Myfabulousonline.
The highly-rated defender added, “I will continue to work hard to make everyone who has been supporting me since the beginning of my career proud.”
Ghana is set to host Sudan in the AFCON qualifiers on Thursday, November 12, 2020, and will travel for the return fixture 5 days later.
