Defender Empem Dacosta has stressed that he is not disturbed by the imminent termination of his contract with Asante Kotoko.
After a year into his three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors club, the former Karela United star defender has been deemed surplus to requirement and will soon be shown the exit door.
Aware of the situation, Empem Dacosta insists he is not worried. According to him, he wants to stay focused on the future and will never give up because the opportunities out there are abundant.
“I’m not perturbed by Kotoko’s decision to terminate my contract because there are many who sought for this opportunity I had”, the defender said in an interview with Kumasi FM.
Empem Dacosta continued, “I will focus on what is ahead of me. I have always loved the club and I never disappointed anytime I was called to duty. I will never give up. This is my profession and I believe there are many opportunities elsewhere.
In a bid to explain his situation at Kotoko, the 23-year old said: “I want to emphasize that my contract was not terminated on performance basis, the records are there to prove it but I believe it is the will of God, someday the truth will be revealed. I thank all the fans for the support they gave me”.
During the 2019/2020 Ghanaian football season, Empem Dacosta managed 6 appearances under Maxwell Konadu before the Coronavirus pandemic forced the suspension and subsequent cancelation of the campaign.
It is understood that there are interests from Legon Cities FC and Karela United for the services of the defender.
