Head coach for Obuasi Ashanti Gold, Thomas Duah has disclosed that the team is ready to represent Ghana in any of CAF’s inter-club competitions next season.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will be expected to present two clubs to CAF at the end of the season to represent the country in the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.
Originally, the winner of the Ghana Premier League and the winner of the MTN FA Cup would be presented to CAF but due to the likelihood that the football season may not be completed because of the Covid-19 crisis, there could be a compromise.
Should it come to that, it is possible the Ghana FA will allow clubs [Asante Kotoko, Ashanti Gold] that participated in the last edition of the two competitions to go again.
According to Coach Thomas Duah, the Miners have already discussed the possibility of playing in Africa next season and are ready to embark on the journey if given the opportunity.
“My team is ready to compete in Africa, technical team, and management have discussed this, and should the opportunity come, we will go again and make sure we do better than we did the last time”, the gaffer shared while speaking to Oyerepa FM.
Meanwhile, Aduana Stars, defending Champions of the Ghana Premier League, has vowed to take legal action if they are not selected to play in Africa next season.
