Veteran Nollywood actor Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, is celebrating his 60th birthday today.
Sharing a photo of himself on his Instagram page on Thursday, he expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and the privilege to keep creating, learning, leading, and inspiring.
Mr Latin reflected on his journey, describing the milestone as sixty years of lessons learned, dreams pursued, challenges overcome, and blessings received.
He wrote:
"60 YEARS OF GRACE, WISDOM & PURPOSE! Sixty years of lessons learned, dreams pursued, challenges overcome, and blessings received. Today, I return all glory to Almighty God for the gift of life and the privilege to keep creating, learning, leading, and inspiring."
"Sixty years, a journey blessed, A grateful heart, a peaceful quest. May wisdom grow, may love increase, And may my life bring hope and peace."
Born Otunba Bolaji Amusan on October 15, 1966, in Gbongan, Osun State, Mr Latin's career started off in 1988 before he moved fully into comedy in 1991.
He got the name "Mr Latin" after featuring in the 1992 film " 50-50", when he mistakenly spoke French in a scene and veteran filmmaker Akin Ogungbe took it for Latin.
He was first elected as the global president of TAMPAN in 2018 and has led the association for years, fighting for the welfare of creative arts practitioners.
He recently bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria, having earlier earned a diploma in Film, Performance, and Theatre Studies from Crescent University, Abeokuta.
