Babadunni Gbolabo, the personal assistant to late gospel artiste Toluwanisings has disclosed that the singer died after being denied medical attention at about eight hospitals in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking in a video sighted online, Gbolabo explained in Yoruba that the incident occurred on Wednesday morning when Toluwanisings suddenly slumped.
He maintained that there was nothing wrong with him and that he was in perfect condition before the incident. He noted that efforts were made to resuscitate him, and he was rushed to several hospitals, but they kept giving excuses.
Gbolabo revealed that some hospitals said doctors were not working because of the strike, while others did not admit him at all. He stated that they tried their best, including prayers, and took him to up to seven or eight hospitals in Ibadan, but God said his time was up.
He added that the family members are around, and the body is currently at the mortuary. He said once the family meets and is clear on things, the next step will be taken, noting that whatever they conclude upon arrival is what will be executed.
He said:
"I am Babadunni Gbolabo. I am the PA to ToluwaniSings. When it happened in the morning, I wasn't here, so they called me, and I came."
"There was nothing wrong with him. He was very fine and in perfect condition. He just slumped. They tried to resuscitate him. They went into helter-skelter. They took him to some hospitals, but they were giving excuses."
"Some said doctors were not working because of the strike. Some did not admit him at all. That is how it went. We tried our best, including prayers. We took him to up to seven or eight hospitals in Ibadan, but God said his time was up."
"The family members are here. So, we are all just managing the situation, as the body is currently at the mortuary. Once the family members meet and are clear on things, we will know the next step to take. But they haven't done the necessary things. Whatever they conclude upon arrival, that is what we will execute."
The Nigerian Voice recalls that anxiety began in the early hours of Wednesday after reports of singer Toluwanisngs' death began surfacing on social media, however, his close associates and colleagues denied it, urging everyone to stay calm and pray for a miracle.
Unfortunately, the singer's death was confirmed by his family on his verified Instagram page in the late hours of Wednesday, with the announcement stating that he passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
