Ojay Wright, the son of veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bukky Wright, has recounted a moment that made him realise just how influential his mother is in the entertainment industry.
He shared the experience during a recent mother-and-son session with Pulse Nigeria.
Ojay recalled that he returned home from the United States for a holiday and celebrated his birthday at Quilox. He said he did not know his mother, whom he referred to by her character name 'Omotara,' was that big until the manager acted as a bouncer that day and shut down the club.
He noted that everyone was standing, and when he asked what was going on, he was told it was his mother's doing.
He added that people began to frolic because they thought his mother was coming for his birthday, and she eventually showed up for about thirty minutes.
He expressed surprise, stating that he had always seen her simply as his mom and did not realise how big she was in the industry.
He said:
"I came back home from the US for holiday and I celebrated my birthday at Quilox. I didn't know that Omotara was that big."
"The manager was like the bouncer that day, shut down the club, everybody was standing there and when I asked him what's going on they said don't worry, it's your mom, your mom did this."
"Then the next thing I noticed that everybody was just frolicking, they wanted to see you because they thought you were coming for my birthday. You came for like thirty minutes."
"I was surprised, I thought you were just mom not knowing you're big."
