Nollywood Media Marriage Wont Be The Core Of My Life — Bisola Aiyeola
SUN, 18 OCT 2026

Nollywood actress Bisola Aiyeola has shared her perspective on marriage, stating that while she values the institution, it will not be the centre of her existence.

Speaking on the In My Opinion podcast, she explained that many women now question the point of marriage if they still have to shoulder all the responsibilities themselves.

The media personality noted that marriage is an essential institution for society, but for her, tying the knot would not define her life, especially since she is doing well on her own.

Reflecting on her experience as a single parent, she emphasised that raising a child should not be left to one person alone, adding that it is not a path anyone should aspire to.

The actress, who turned 40 in January, also declared that she loves herself deeply and that this is the best time of her life.

She said:
"Women are like, you know what? What's the point if I still must do everything myself? Why do I have to be tied to this man all in the name of marriage?"

"Marriage is an institution; it is essential for society. For me, if I do get married, it won't be the core of my life. I mean, I'm doing well."

"Being a single parent and looking after my daughter, I still let her know that being a single parent is not that easy. That's not what you should aspire to be. Bearing the whole load of raising a child shouldn't be for one person alone."

"I turned 40 in January. Yeah. I love me so much, and this is the best time of my life."
