Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has clarified that her decision to distance herself from the Lagos State APC campaign council list was not prompted by any form of bullying.
In a post on X, she explained that she woke up to see her name on a list she knew absolutely nothing about and acted because it was the right thing to do.
Abraham, who was responding to an X user who reacted to her decision, reiterated that she has no interest in politics and has said so repeatedly.
She wrote:
"Bro, I didn't do it because of any bully. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I woke up and saw my name on a list I knew absolutely nothing about. Moreover, I've already said it—I'm not interested in politics. Lawyer Nupe I love u and thanks for love and support."
Toyin Abraham had earlier reacted to the inclusion of her name in the Lagos State APC campaign council list, dismissing the report and clarifying her political stance. In a post shared on her Instagram story, she stated that she is not a member of any campaign council and has repeatedly said she is staying out of politics, urging the public to disregard the supposed inclusion of her name in any campaign committee.
Her reaction came after the APC in Lagos State released its Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate list, which included her name as a member. The Nigerian Voice recently reported that the APC in Lagos State had constituted its Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, featuring a star-studded line-up of Nollywood and Fuji music heavyweights.
