Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has thrown her weight behind Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She made her stance known at a gathering organised under the banner "Celebrities for Peter Obi."
Ozokwor described Nigeria as a spoiled child, noting that God has blessed the country with abundant resources. She said other nations would be far ahead if they had even a quarter of what Nigeria possesses.
She also criticised those who have amassed wealth for themselves and their generations while the country struggles. She urged celebrities at the gathering to recognise the influence they wield through their public image and integrity, noting that their faces and reputation carry weight.
She said:
"I see this country as a spoiled child. There is nothing God did not provide for us. Other nations of the world, if they have one quarter of what God has given to us, they will be better than what they are today."
"Some people in this country have laid up for themselves for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren."
"Celebrities here, what we have, we have our faces. We have our integrity."
