"I Am Not A Member Of Any Campaign Council" – Toyin Abraham

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has reacted to the inclusion of her name in the Lagos State APC campaign council list, dismissing the report and clarifying her political stance.

In a post shared on her Instagram story, she stated that she is not a member of any campaign council and has repeatedly said she is staying out of politics.

Abraham urged the public to disregard the supposed inclusion of her name in any campaign committee.

She wrote:
"I'm not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently, I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee."

Her reaction comes after the APC in Lagos State released its Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate list, which included her name as a member. The actress has now distanced herself from the list, stating that she remains apolitical.

The Nigerian Voice recently reported that the APC in Lagos State had constituted its Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, featuring a star-studded line-up of Nollywood and Fuji music heavyweights.

The list, released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, forms part of the full campaign council, which is expected to be inaugurated on Friday, September 18, at the party's secretariat on Acme Road, Ikeja.

At the helm of the directorate is Toke Benson-Awoyinka as Director, supported by veteran actor Jide Kosoko as Co-Director and actress Eniola Badmus as Deputy Director. The list also includes Nollywood veterans like Oga Bello Salami, Abiola Adebayo, Saheed Balogun, Remi Oshodi, Foluke Daramola, Bukky Wright, Bimbo Akintola, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri, and others.

The Fuji music scene is also heavily represented, with Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abas Akande (Obesere), Sulaimon Alao Adekunle (Malaika), Adewale Ayuba, Akorede Babatunde Okunola (Osupa), and Temitope Adekunle (Small Doctor) among the members.
