Nollywood actress Olayode Juliana has expressed deep sorrow over the alarming cases of child abuse and exploitation circulating online.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, she revealed that she had a disturbing dream earlier this year, and after seeing heartbreaking posts involving children and sexual abuse, she remembered it and broke down.
The Toyobaby star in Funke Akindele's 'Jenifa's Diary's stated that the incident reminded her why she continues to speak about purity. She explained that purity is not just about sex or virginity but about the heart, how people are treated, how they live, love, lead, and honour God.
According to her, beyond laws and systems, society needs Jesus and transformed hearts.
She prayed for God to protect children, heal homes, and raise a generation that truly knows and loves Him, declaring that purity is not an act but a lifestyle.
She wrote:
"SENSITIVE POST WARNING. My heart is broken. Earlier this year, I had a deeply disturbing dream. Last night, after seeing heartbreaking posts involving children and sexual abuse, I remembered it and broke down. It reminded me again why I keep talking about PURITY. Purity is not just about sex or virginity. It is about the heart, how we treat people, how we live, love, lead and honour God.
Beyond laws and systems, we need Jesus. We need transformed hearts. May God protect our children, heal our homes and raise a generation that truly knows and loves Him. Purity is not an act, Purity Is A Lifestyle. The Nigerian Voice recalls that Juliana has previously emphasised that she does not take kissing roles in movies, a decision that has affected her career. However, she maintained that she will continue to remain steadfast in her conviction.
Her latest post comes amid the recent arrest of a 36-year-old content creator, Anulika Onyeanusia, by operatives of the Anambra State Police Command over an alleged case of child pornography.
The arrest followed a disturbing video that went viral, showing a woman allegedly using sex toys on a minor during a private livestream. The Anambra police confirmed that four children, aged two, three, six, and nine, were rescued from the suspect, and several sex toys and other items were recovered.
The suspect's husband is also undergoing interrogation.
