The Ministry of the Interior has announced that Monday, September 21, 2026, will be observed as a statutory public holiday across Ghana.
The day marks Founder’s Day and is to be celebrated nationwide in accordance with the declaration.
In a statement issued on September 14, 2026, the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed–Mubarak, urged the general public to take note of the holiday.
The declaration was signed by the Interior Minister.
