Popular Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun, better known as AY, has shared his astonishment after experiencing a driverless Uber ride in Atlanta, United States.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the award-winning comedian expressed his surprise upon discovering that the Jaguar Uber he boarded was operating without a human driver, with the vehicle steering itself to his destination.
AY explained that he unlocked the car using his phone and initiated the trip entirely through the app, without any physical interaction with a driver.
He humorously contrasted the advanced technology in the West with traditional African practices, playfully questioning when their own "juju" would be upgraded to match such innovations.
He said:
"See, na this car dey drive himself. Na my Uber be this."
"I unlocked the car with my phone, started the ride with my phone, and here we go. Taking me to my destination. No driver."
"I entered Uber in Atlanta … na Jaguar, but driver no dey!"
"Oyinbo don use technology make motor drive itself. Meanwhile, for Africa our jazz na to dey turn people into yam. When our own juju go upgrade?."
