Nollywood actors Kunle Remi and Mofe Duncan have paid emotional tributes to award-winning filmmaker Dimbo Atiya, who passed away on August 6.
The movie stars took to Instagram to express their grief and share memories of the late producer and director.
Kunle Remi recalled his time with Atiya at the New York Film Academy in 2013, where he served as his lead actor for his final year project.
He wrote, "So much I have to say, it's hard to come to terms with this... but I will pray for your family and loved ones. A solid MAN & VISIONARY. REST WELL KING!"
Mofe Duncan, who had earlier announced Atiya's death, shared his devastation, describing the loss as one that left him numb.
"This year has been grueling for me, lost my Dad, Alexx & my cousin Margret, but when the news broke of your passing, I was numb for hours and felt fear that the world truly might be coming to an end," he wrote.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Atiya's death was announced on Thursday, August 6, by actor and filmmaker Mofe Duncan, who expressed shock and devastation.
Atiya, a native of Nasarawa State, was known for his work on television series such as Halita, Sons of the Caliphate, and The Rishantes. He won the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Award for Best Africa Magic Original Drama Series in 2022 for Halita.
