I Left Peller's Wedding For The Shrine, Not Because I Was Angry – Seun Kuti

Controversial Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has debunked reports that he stormed out of the traditional wedding of TikTok stars Jarvis and Peller in Lagos.

Reports had claimed that Kuti left the event after one of the Master of Ceremonies allegedly compared Wizkid to his father, music legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

In a viral video alongside Fuji singer Malaika, Kuti clarified that he left the ceremony to go to the Shrine, not because he was angry.

He accused bloggers of twisting the situation and suggested that he should have danced out of the ceremony if his exit was going to be misrepresented.

He said:
"I left the wedding to go to the Shrine, and these bloggers twisted things, saying I was angry. Maybe I should have danced out of the ceremony when I had somewhere to go."

The Nigerian Voice recalls that Peller and Jarvis held their traditional wedding on August 1, 2026, following their civil wedding on July 29.

The lavish ceremony was attended by several celebrities, including Seun Kuti.
