British - born Nigerian actress Uru Eke has been nominated for the Best New Comer Actress Award in the forthcoming 2nd African Film Festival and Academy Award (Zafaa Award). Uru was nominated for her outstanding performance in the movie – Widows Men.
Asked how she feels to have been nominated for an award so early in her Nollywood career, vivacious Uru, who is also a software specialist, said that the nomination came to her as a surprise, according to her, “I am grateful to my family and friends who have been there for me and encouraged me all the way to pursue acting as a second career. But the biggest thanks must go to the fans for appreciating the efforts of Nigerian actors and actresses”.
Three actress are vying for the Best New Comer Actress Award; Uru Eke – Widows Men, Bukola Fagbuyi - Apesin, and Yvonne Okoro - Beyonce.
