It was not palatable for the Africa's comic act, Basketmouth to explain to people how dare-devil robbers stormed his relation haven recently.
Embassy Bar and Lounge located in Yaba area of Lagos was declared open on Friday June 22 2012, in a lavish manner. The bar and lounge co-owned by torch light of stand up comic- Basketmouth (Bright Okporucha) was the target of an armed robbery attack as they entered disguising as security operatives.
They reportedly got stumped when they ran into a uniformed police personnel immediately on securing entry into the gate. They immediately shot on sight- but fortunately for the policeman, the shot went wide- creating room for him to respond on kind. The robbers reportedly took to their heels- in the wake of the shooting. Sources said that echoes of the gun fight- inside the fun place created 'a panicky stampede among fun lovers. Basketmouth, who was said to be around at the time of the incident, reportedly scampered over a couple of chairs- to claim safety behind a fallen few crowd. Later, the robbers left having tried to get their way through to the treasury drawer without effort. Sources confirmed the robbery attack was foiled and nobody hurt in the ' fearsome drama'. Embassy located in Yaba, Lagos is owned by Basketmouth and two others- Jide Salako and Kayode Peters.
