EFCC ARRESTS FUJI STAR, SAIDI OSUPA

Fuji star, Saidi Osupa a.k.a. Saridon Papa was yesterday arrested by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for organising a party with the sum of N3 million. P.M.News learned that the officials of EFCC stormed his Akin Baruwa residence at about 9 a.m. to effect his arrest.

Investigations revealed that the Fuji who mistook the officials of the commission for armed robbers who had earlier attacked him and snatched his mobile phone, engaged them in a brawl.

He was overpowered as one of them hit him with the gun butt before he was taken to the Ikoyi office of the commission.

Investigations further revealed that Osupa was quizzed by the operatives over an alleged N3 million party he organised for a lady named Tope who had earlier been detained and later released in the evening.

Speaking after his release, the fuji star said, “I had earlier received a letter written with EFCC letterhead paper but without the logo. I thought it was common gimmick. I am a big star that is rich enough to spend N3 million on a party. Besides, there is nothing like that.”

He added: “When they came I thought they were robbers because they were in plain clothes. But in the course of the brawl between me and them, I was hit on the head with the gun butt by one of them,” he said.

The fuji star, who was later released yesterday and ordered to report at the commission's office next week Tuesday, is now nursing the head injury he sustained while he was being arrested.
