The Autopsy report on the former NDC Propaganda Secretary, Dr Farouk Braimah says he died from a break down of his body's immune system, reports the Daily Guide newspaper.
A post-mortem report cited by the Daily Guide and signed by authorities at the 37 military hospital states that he died as a result of a breakdown of his body's immune system, heart disease and hypertension among others.
The report did not state that the deceased suffered any bodily injuries as being purported by the Ghana Palaver, the mouthpiece of the opposition NDC party.
The paper on Tuesday reported that Dr Braimah died as a result of police brutalities meted out to him and from inhaling tear gas at the last demonstration organised by a pressure group, Concerned Ghanaians against the ROPAA.
Hospital authorities say Dr Braimah was admitted on Wednesday March 1, 2006 and died on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 6pm.
According to the autopsy report the deceased also suffered a sort of blood poisoning in his circulation system, which was triggered by his status.
A source at the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said anyone interested in knowing the cause of death of Dr Braimah, should refer to the autopsy report.
NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said on an Accra based private radio station that Farouk was attacked and brutalized by the police at the second demonstration held on March, 21, 2006.
According to him although he had not seen the autopsy report nor had the faintest idea of his medical history, he was certain that the former environment and science minister died from the attack on him by the police.
A family member of the deceased, Billy Braimah denied that there was any political cause to his death saying Farouk died of natural causes.
