
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, arrived in the United States on Saturday, August 31, 2019, and was met on arrival at Washington Dulles International Airport by Ghana’s Ambassador to the US, H.E. Dr. Barfuor Adjei-Barwuah
Also present to welcome the Asantehene was Nana Owusu Appia-Dankwah Kwandahor, Manwerehene of Amoafo Traditional Area.
Asantehene’s agenda for his visit is as follows:
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has been invited by the United Nations (UN) to address the General Assembly on the Culture of Peace.
The speech will be delivered at the United Nations’ General Assembly High-Level Forum of the 25th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace.
The Asantehene will be delivering a speech on his ability to use traditional methods and culture to engender peace in the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole.
The address will be delivered on 13 September 2019.
