NDC: A Threat And Disease To Ghana’s Development

Most Ghanaians are at a fixed when someone who should know better counter facts with polluted misconception. Am yet to see the whole umbrella fraternity contesting facts with facts and spinning those facts to stand the test of time.

The problem with a section of Ghanaians especially the NDC school of thought believes that drones are specifically made to take special photography, just like the Chairman of the same party posited that FSHS would bring about teenage pregnancy. What a polluted garbage from someone others considered as level headed.

In this modern say and age, drones could be made for SPECIFIC and VARIED purposes. It could be made for;

1. Photographs
2. Oil, gas and mineral exploration
3. Disaster Relief and
4. Carrying sensing equipment to assist with any eventualities somewhere, where necessary.

My focus is the government’s initiative of using drones to deliver medical equipment to areas of pressing needs and the polluted contestation of the ignorant minority, who has shallow thoughts, whether deliberate or pure ignorance and trying to infect that infectious diseases of theirs which are incurable to the good people of Ghana.

Drones can be used for geological surveying, agriculture, health, archaeology, and several other industries can benefit greatly from the myriad of sensors that can be packed into a drone. Here are just a few examples of how the agricultural industry, for example, uses aerial sensors in other parts of the world:

1. 1. Drones can use Lidar to measure the height of crops. Lidar is a remote sensing technology that measures distance by illuminating an object with a laser (near-infrared or UV) and then measuring what is reflected back.
2. Heat sensors detect the temperature of livestock, the presence of water, water temperature, and for surveillance and emergency response (if someone is injured in a remote field away from heavy equipment).
3. Multi-spectral instruments can count plants (crop density), check the health of plants, and even assess water quality.
4. Visual spectrum sensors make it possible to survey and map land.
5. Biological sensors can be used to take air quality readings and check for the presence of specific micro-organisms or organic compounds.

However, just like how drones are being used in the field of agriculture, such drones are specifically made to serve the purpose(s) meant for it because the government’s priority in whatever policy and programme is rolling out, shoulder’s heavily on value for money.

In the case of Medical Drones that would help remote areas which are lacking essential health materials and equipment, to be droned there as soon as possible. This initiative is nothing but A LIFE-SAVING INITIATIVE that all meaning Ghanaians need to support and proffer ways and means of sustaining such a brilliant policy. These drones are made specifically to transport essential materials to lacking areas of need. The photographic function of the drone will not be added to this particular one as this function isn’t needed. Thus, value for money.

Looting public coffers and rigging elections are the top priorities of the NDC government whenever they are in the helm of governance. Why should anybody think that the medical drone would be used to carry ballot boxes? Why again should you think that such a brilliant policy would be reduced to taking photographs of naked women? Isn’t those thoughts sad to academicians, to the academic world and a polluted contribution to the body of knowledge? Why must a human being always have a negative thinking to issues that hinder on the overall development of a country?

We can collectively do better for the sake of Ghana and not for the sake of One Chief One V8, not Ghc 3.6m just for rebranding 116 MMB for the benefit of an individual, not for GYEEDA and neither for an illegal Ford Expedition gift worth USD 60,000 that JM took for awarding a contract of fraudulent deals.
