Methodist Church of Ghana elects new presiding bishop

The Administrative Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana Rt. Rev. Paul Kwabena Boafo has been elected as the new Presiding Bishop at the just ended 10th Biennial and 48th Conference of the church at Sekondi in the Western Region.

He pulled 223 out of the 350 total votes cast representing 63.7 percent.

Rt. Rev. Kwabena Boafo who is to take over from Most Reverend Titus Kofi Awortwi Pratt, the outgoing Presiding Bishop will be the sixth to occupy the presiding bishop seat since the Methodist Church entered into the episcopacy system of administration.

Rev. Michael Agyakwa Bossman was aslo eleted as the new Administrative Bishop of the church.

The Methodist Church of Ghana last week held its 10th Biennial and 48th conference at Sekondi

The 5 days conference was to offer a platform to both the Clergy and Laity from Ghana and foreign partners of the church to take stock of the mission and also plan for the progress of the church in the future.

It was on the theme: "Go and Make Disciples of All Nations; Intensifying Our Teaching Towards Disciple Making".

The conference was hosted by Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church of Ghana.

41 new minister of God were ordained to join the priesthood of the church.

The Outgoing Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Most Reverend Titus Kofi Awortwi Pratt advised the presiding bishop elect to allow the word of God and prayer guide him throughout his tenure of office because the new place he is going to occupy God's place.
