Close down any church that will refuse to pay tax - Journalist Komfa to government

I will urge the government to close down those churches kicking against paying of Tax for the development of this nation because they are robbing God of his share and robbing this country of its Tax at the same time.

This my submission is very sensitive because it needs critical Biblical analysis and historical facts.

The main question we should be asking ourselves is: Is it appropriate for OUR CHURCHES TO PAY TAX TO THE GOVERNMENT?

My answer is a big YES because the Tithe in the Bible is a direct equivalent to the Tax government collects.

In Nehemiah 10:37-38 Even the Levites who are to collect the contributions(TITHES) 10% of the Israelites were even supposed to render account to God and the community by also giving 10% of what they collect to the treasury house for them to store for the Israel nation.

In Nehemiah 12:44 it was clearly stated that then Men are appointed to guide those contributions in the storeroom, so the question is, if the Tithe is for only the priest do you think they will appoint men to guide it.

Remember in the Old Testaments Politics were not all that popular ,Communities and towns were run by Priests and Kings ,so any contributions done for the priest were presumed to be for that particular community.

In our generation God wants us to give 10^TH of our income to him or to the Pastors. What is the proof that the 10^th of our income we give in churches gets to God in which way, in which God’s Bank account? Or to buy instruments or church buildings?

Money giving in Churches is not for God. It is the church contributions to store food in a storeroom of the Priests which are the Levites so that at the end of the year or three years or at a given period it will be share among the contributors. In the olden Days or in the Old Testament there were nothing like Church and the TITHE was a form of Tax contributions to help the less privilege in the community or the Town and the priests who take care of the temple.

In Deuteronomy 14:22–29 clearly states that Tithe are to be used by the very people who contributed it, thus giving some to widows, fatherless and foreigners and the Levites. This means not only the Priests are to enjoy the Church money. This also means that the money offered in our churches belongs to all the congregation not only the Pastor, his wife and family, every soul at that particular church has a share in the money. So sometimes I wonder why Pastors will be enjoying in luxury cars and mansions and some of his church members will wailing for money for survival.

Now let’s move on to the main topic .Why Churches are to pay Tax.

Throughout the Bible, God only ordered the Priests now Pastors to take ONLY TITHE so anything apart from TITHE is their own Business and thus they have to pay TAX for it.

Examples are SELLING OF CHURCH BOOK, SELLING OF ANOINTING OILS, SELLING OF STICKERS and CONSULTATION FEES.

There is nowhere in the Bible God ask any pastor to take consultation fees.

Most Churches are running school which in my own opinion should be even cheaper for everyone but to my surprise these schools are even charging higher fees .Some of these schools were built at the expense of the church members contributions.

Any Pastor who will kick against the payment of Tax by churches does not have Ghana at heart thus very wicked and greedy, because see how some Pastors are flaunting in luxury mansions and Cars in this country.

So do you think God will be angry if portion of what his men collect in his house are given to the government so that they can use it to build hospitals ,construct roads , improve the standard of living of the very people who contributed the money.

Even God will be happy to see that the money collected in his name are used to create jobs, construct roads, hospitals to save life rather than going to chill in Dubai, opening Banks for themselves and buying expensive cars for celebrities.

It does not make sense for a man to buy cars for celebrities but speak against paying tax that will help the development of this country.

If God will be angry at Government for taking that money as said by one man God, then he is not, Most merciful and Compassionate as it is written in the Bible.

I think God should rather be angry with those pastors who are misusing his money on buying cars for celebrities.

Ezra 7:17 also let me understand that the money the collect by the Priest, some should be used to buy bulls and alcohol and offer them on the altar of God in Jerusalem.

Another question How many Ghanaian Pastors do that. Instead of them to go to Jerusalem and do that they will rather go to Dubai and have Holidays with the very money they collected in the name of God.

To conclude my submission Government of Ghana should insist and collect their share from the money collected in our Churches in a form of Tax so that they can use these money for roads, hospitals and etc.

God will be happy to see some of the churches cracked down for refusing to pay tax for the wellbeing of his people.
