Nkoranza (B/A), Sept. 6, GNA - Okatakyie Agyemang Kodom IV, Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area has endorsed the destoolment of Nana Asare Akomeah, Kyidomhene.
Nana Asare was also the chief of Jema, near Kintampo. At a meeting with some sub-chiefs at his palace at Nkoranza on Friday, the Omanhene accused Nana Akomea of treachery and unfaithfulness.
The Kyidomhene was alleged to have enstooled two chiefs at Nante, a farming community in the traditional area without the knowledge of the Omanhene.
The Omanhene further said Nana Asare sometime ago, enstooled Nana Asamoah Baffo II, as chief of Nante and led him to swear before him (Omanhene) and elders and to be recognized as the Odikro of Nkoranza Traditional Area.
Okatakyie Agyeman further alleged that, Nana Asare later condoned and connived with some elders of Nante and installed Nana Osei Donyina, 48, as the new chief of the area, creating misunderstanding and confusion in the community.
He described the action of the Kyidomhene as a great betrayal to him as it could have triggered quarrels and disputes among the people. The Omanhene cautioned other sub-chiefs to desist from such practice, as it would have adverse effect on the development of the community.
Nana Akomeah's plea to the Omanhene through Nana Yaa Dudaa Kani, Queen mother of Nkoranza was not accepted, as the Omanhene said he wanted the action taken to serve as a deterrent to other like-minded chiefs.
Present at the Omanhene's palace were Nana Okofo Agyapong, Adontehene, Nana Amoah Gyare Baffo, Gyasehene, Nana Kwabena Effa, Akwamuhene and the chief's linguist and Nana Febiri Fi, Baafihene.
