God Bless Our Homeland Ghana And Make Her Great And Strong
12.05.2018 LISTEN

On this festive day, dear mother, I would want to acknowledge your infinite motherliness to me and to the entire human society. I am very much aware of the fact that being a mother is a non-stop, overworked, and exhaustive life, though it can also be one of the most rewarding. Mummy I must tell you that you have contributed immensely to society and the future of humanity in so many ways. So on this Mother’s Day, it is a terrific opportunity to wish you a happy mother’s day. Mummy, what other mothers could not do, you have done them all. From the abundance flow of your breast milk, you feed everyone. Honey flows from your land which nourishes everybody. You give me water to drink to quench my biological need of thirst. You cloth me with your ornaments such as gold, diamond, lithium, bauxite and other natural resources you have kept for generational use.

Beautiful mothers are everywhere, but beautiful mothers with beautiful and loving hearts are hard to find. Mummy, I must say that you have such a beautiful and lovely heart not only for your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren but for everyone. You are a mother to all motherless. Being a mother, your have been considered by many as the cooking pot that entertains strangers. You’re the mighty tree with big branches laden with fruits. Every child that comes to you finds something to eat. Your hand always tempts you to give even the little you’re to survive on. Your kindness, generosity, concern for other people’s well-being and affection for children demonstrate that you have par excellence qualities. Maame, mema wo amo ne adwuma. Otwere Duapon Nyame nhyira wo daa. Nyakopɔn ɛnyɛ wo kɛseɛ na ɔnhyɛ wo den. Maame, me ma wo mo ne awoɔ oo.

My child, you have really surprised me, I don’t know what to say: my son, keep in mind what I have been telling you to do from the onset. Be an industrious person: Do not swim in laziness, my child, for that is the only way you can be at a stand-still in life. I also entreat you to be truthful, diligent and eschew any form of corruption in your dealings with those you encounter. Do not take what is not your due. Do not cheat the less privileged. Do not steal people’s items for that can shorten your life span. Be the catalyst of change wherever you find yourself. Enforce justice, and morality wherever you are. Do not mishandle offices put under your care by anyone.

Oh mummy, you have again nourished me with your kind words. I thank God for giving you to me as a mother. What would I have done without such a wonderful mother like you? I promise to always keep with me this pot full of your pieces of advice. I promise to always uphold these pieces of advice and make you proud, for that is all you expect from me. Long live mother Ghana, long live all Ghanaians. May God Bless our Homeland Ghana and Make Her Great and Strong. Happy Mother’s Day dear mummy Ghana. Love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
