The president of Open University Malaysia, (OUM) professor Dr. Mansor Fadzil has said Ghana has the potential to develop stronger educational systems like Malaysia.

He was speaking at the visit he made to the Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) campus with his entourage on Saturday 16th February 2018.

He explained that, Ghana as a country is blessed with many natural resources hence the country should take advantage of that to improve the quality standard of education in the county.

“This country is blessed with many natural resources like Gold, Cocoa and more this can be used to establish a very strong foundation for growth and as well develop the educational system”

“These natural resources are given to us for reason so we must take advantage of it and make the nation a better place for all of us” he said

According to him, every developed County has a visionary leader who understands the importance of using their resources to improve quality education to produced quality leaders.

“Other developed countries are where they are today, because they had leaders who were focused and committed more of its resources into establishing quality educational system which will produce quality leaders” he said

“To get the best out of any nation is when you place much importance into the quality of education, if you compromise on the quality, the country will never achieve it purpose of becoming a great nation”.

"Good leaders who are wise enough will invest wisely into good education; we need more quality educated people in Ghana. You can transform your people through quality education," he explained

prowl to his visit he pledged OUM commitments to giving quality of education to Ghanaians by extending their collaboration with AIT with more years with the promise of better and quality programs, “we share ideals and relevant information for quality teaching and learning at AIT”, adding that at OUM,: “all are our learning materials including students’ time tables are powered technologically for quick and easy access by the Students irrespective of their locations”.

AIT is affiliated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for the campus-based undergraduate programs in Engineering, Computer Science/IT and Business Administration and to the Open University of Malaysia for the Open University undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Masters and the PhD levels.
